Responsibilities

 

Responsible for the management and administration of the athletics grounds staff in their support of the mission of the athletics department to provide world-class facilities and fields. Supports the central Facilities team on their quest to continue to be recognized as one of the most beautiful campuses in the U.S.

  • Responsible for the management and administration of maintenance and grounds crews responsible for Athletic and surrounding University facilities. Oversee staff in their support of the mission of the athletics department to provide world-class facilities and fields. Works with the University's core Facilities team to continue to enhance campus beautification and provides leadership in the game day experience for University patrons.
  • Provide leadership to overall campus experience regarding landscape care. Provides guidance and direction to staff involved in grounds services and programs which may include maintenance, building and grounds, skilled trades, and custodial.
  • Responsible for program design and the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records for personnel to include USPS and OPS staff. Monitor overtime and ensure the grounds department operates within annual budget constraints.
  • Develops turf management schedule that meets best practice standards and minimizes conflicts with scheduled events. Requires ability to react quickly to meet the needs of coaching staffs, weather changes, and campus expectations. Sends out a monthly schedule of planned daily maintenance. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree and four years experience related to facilities and/or grounds services or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Preferred Qualifications

 
  • Advanced knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply NCAA and D1 Power 5 conference rules, regulations, and expectations.
  • Ability to train and supervise employees.
  • Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in area of work.
